Note
  • "The paintings ... were executed in transparent watercolor on paper handmade at the Barcham Green Mills in Maidstone, Kent, Great Britain, for the Royal Watercolour Society. The three text typefaces used are Kennerly for the American Tricksters, Berkley for the West Indian Tricksters, & Goudy Oldstyle for the African Tricksters. All three types were designed by Frederic W. Goudy. The illustrator would like to especially thank Heinrich Kley & Wilhelm Raulbach for their work, which the illustrator has unabashedly and freely quoted. Production supervision by Angela Biola ; The book was designed by Kathleen Westray & Barry Moser"--Colophon
